The Michele Rae Crane Foundation is a family foundation set up to honor Michele Rae Crane who died as a young woman after being struck by a drunk driver. Her family set up the foundation that has supported programs and special events in the Child Life Program, such as the hospital grandparent program and literacy programming for patients. The Michael Rae Crane Foundation has supported the beach day event for more than 10 years.

The Child Life Program coordinates events, such as visits from special friends,          to help make the hospital experience more positive for children of all ages.            Child life specialists plan individualized and group programs that help children adjust to their hospital stay and promote the continuity of normal, daily childhood activities.
