CERRITOS >> Deputies fatally shot a man after he struck a sheriff’s deputy with a car at a Cerritos intersection Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The suspect, described only as a man, died at a hospital following the 5:14 p.m. deputy-involved shooting at Alondra Boulevard and Studebaker Road, just outside of Cerritos College, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s Information Bureau said in a written statement.

“The deputy sustained unknown injuries as a result of being struck by the suspect’s vehicle and has been transported to a local hospital for treatment,” she added.

    No further details were available.

California Highway Patrol officials shut down the Alondra Boulevard offramps from the 605 Freeway, as well as the westbound 91 Freeway connector road to the northbound 605 Freeway, as deputies continued their investigation Wednesday evening.

The fatal deputy-involved shooting took place one day after a man was shot to death in a suspected gang-related shooting at a 7-Eleven store at the same intersection, but across the city border in Norwalk, Lt. Victor Lewandowski of the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau said.

The identity of Tuesday afternoon’s shooting victim was not released Wednesday.

Investigators described the killers as two Latino men in their late-teens to early-20s. Lewandowski said a dark-colored Chevrolet sedan and a white SUV-type vehicle were seen leaving the area following the gunfire.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, Tips may also be submitted anonymously to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

This is the result that the Cerritos Traffic and Safety committee is not being televised. All commissioners and committee meetings should be televised. Cerritos Let Freedom Ring Committee is not televised, nor is the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts Televised and that committee recently filed BK. We need government which is more transparent.

    How weird is this?

Remember on Martin Luther King’s birthday, I shared a story about a BLACK FEMALE, freeway chase, which ended when the mercedes-benz was pulled over and there was a half a dozen dogs in the 2 seater Mercedes, jumped all over the freeway. Neighbor lady from La Palma, was driving her dogs around town in her two seater Mercedes, and the police finally pulled her over and arrested her. That was so strang! TV news feeds stated they have never seen that many dogs in a sm. 2 seater car, plus being AFRICAN AMERICAN, on MLK.

This ended in a bizarre twist, when she was driving as a passenger in a bus, same lady jump from the bus and got killed today. What a tragic ending .

Woman who died jumping from OCTA bus was also driver whose dogs ran out on 710 freeway

ANAHEIM – A 48-year-old who jumped out of a county bus going 20 to 25 mph last week and hit her head on the pavement has died, authorities said Wednesday.

Tiffini Kuuipo Tobe, of La Habra, jumped out of a moving Orange County Transportation Authority bus around 6:50 a.m. on Feb. 18 on East La Palma Avenue.

She assaulted two Anaheim police officers, causing them to handcuff her and sit her on the curb, police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.
She went into cardiac arrest while on the curb, was taken to a hospital and died at some point, Wyatt said. The coroner’s office has declined so far to say when she died.

Tobe, it turns out, was also the woman accused of igniting a police pursuit last month that ended in six pit bulls running across a Long Beach freeway.

Authorities say she led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase. An officer had attempted to wake her while she was sleeping behind the wheel.

She then sped off from the westbound 91 freeway in Buena Park to the southbound 710 freeway before an officer used a PIT maneuver to get her to halt near Pacific Coast Highway.

Three of six pit bulls in the Mercedes-Benz took off and were corralled by animal control officers.

According to jail records, Tobe, a housekeeper, posted bond after the police pursuit and was released from the Orange County jail two days before her death.
