Two residents are telling HMG-CN that a shooting has occurred at KFC near the Home Depot across from Cerritos College. HMG-CN will update when available.

The resident reported that multiple Sheriff’s units and paramedics were at the scene working on the alleged shooter who landed in a planter after being shot.

HMG-CN spoke to Cerritos and Norwalk Sheriff’s who confirmed the shooting, but said it was too early to give other information.

A Cerritos resident talked to the manager of the KFC who has now indicated the alleged shooter died at the scene from gunshot wounds.

    A man was shot in or near a 7-Eleven store in Cerritos on Tuesday.

    The shooting occurred at 4:28 p.m. at 10962 Alondra Blvd., according to Sgt. George Suarez of the sheriff’s Norwalk Station.

    The victim was taken to a hospital. His condition was not available.

    The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available, Suarez said.

    There also was no suspect information.

    NORWALK, Calif. (KABC) –A man was shot and killed at a 7-Eleven in Norwalk on Tuesday, according to officials.

    The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it responded to the scene in the 10900 block of Alondra Boulevard near Studebaker Road at about 4:30 p.m.

    Witnesses told deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department the victim was approached by people inside the 7-Eleven where a verbal altercation took place.

    The victim ran out of the location and one of the suspects ran after him, shooting the victim as he fled, according to officials. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    Deputies said the suspects, described as several Hispanic men in their late teens to early 20s, fled the scene. A suspect vehicle description was not provided.

    The sheriff’s department said the shooting appeared to be gang-related.

    Deputies originally told ABC7 the incident appeared to have taken place at KFC, but later clarified that it happened in the 7-Eleven parking lot next door to the KFC.

    Officials asked that anyone with information about the shooting call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.

    NORWALK >> A man fatally shot in a 7-Eleven parking lot in Norwalk was identified today, and authorities sought public help to solve the crime.

    The shooting took place about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at 10962 Alondra Blvd., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Christopher Bishop, whose age was not known, died at a hospital, according to the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department.

    Witnesses told detectives the victim was approached by several people inside the convenience store, where an argument started, sheriff’s Deputy Trina Schrader said.

    The victim ran outside and one suspect ran after him, opened fire and wounded him. The suspects then ran from the location, Schrader said. The suspects were in their late teens to early 20s.
