A domestic violence suspect hit a La Palma police car before leading police on an over 30-mile chase that ended in Long Beach early this morning.
Th effacer had leg injuries and was taken to a hospital after the crash that occurred near Walker Street after a short pursuit.
The suspect, Juan Manuel Jara, 40, was being sought hours after a report of a domestic violence incident in La Palma.
Police had spotted the suspect in La Palma, and attempted to stop him before he turned around and crashed into the police cars.
La Palma police Sgt. Ron Wilkerson said domestic violence calls can be unpredictable.
Jara was arrested and checked for injuries. He faces charges that include domestic violence and assault of a police officer.
The injured police officer was released and is recovering at home.
