A 20-year old San Pedro man has ended his life by leaping from the famed Vincent Thomas Bridge into the harbor and his own suicide note was left from hundreds of his stunned friends and family members to read on the social network site Facebook.
Erik Bosques told his Facebook friends and family members about the current “pain” he was experiencing in a post written on July 18th. Bosques was seen climbing the San Pedro bridge more than 35 stories above the water when he took the fatal leap at around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday.
Several 911 calls were made to alert law enforcement officials after they spotted the athletically built Bosques on the bridge.
“It was a pretty quick thing. It happened within a couple minutes,” said Phillip Sanfield, spokesman for the Port of Los Angeles. “He scaled a portion of the bridge. It’s not clear if he jumped or changed his mind and fell, but he obviously made an effort to get into that position. You can’t accidentally fall off the bridge.” Sanfield made his comments to a daily newspaper in the Southbay area.
Bousques even posted a “farewell” song video on his Facebook profile page from the group “Passive” entitled “A Perfect Circle.” In his last post on Facebook it read: “I cared about someone and got hurt. I can’t believe this is happening again,”

“Everyone I know: thank you for your support and your ability to up with this Facebook nonsense. Obviously what I’m going through really hurts and often times as much as I don’t like to admit, it helps. But I know pleas of help on Facebook is counterproductive and only puts the people I care about in distress and annoys them. I try my hardest not to spam my feelings and problems as best as I can.
I sincerely apologize for the past three years of my life. I’ve acted brash and bitterly in coping with a lot of family, relationship, mental, and physical pain. I was not right to choose the path I did for it has led me to a dead end.
I am going to kill myself for good. This I will, will, try my hardest to do no matter how hard it is to follow through. Because like I said Im at a dead end in my life.
I can’t say how or when I will do it, but I have settled on it based on this inability to get through a hard place in my life right now.
It’s no ones fault but my own. I take responsibility for my behavior, actions, and of course my ultimate end.
I just wanted to let you know however, how much I care about everyone I know or once knew and how grateful I am to have lived to age 20. No matter how tough.
So without further ado, I want to thank my grandma for all her love and support in my life. She has endured my issues and her own and I LOVE HER SO MUCH. She deserves the world and a half. For all that she’s been through, she’s stayed strong for me. I wish I could have done the same for her.
As for my brother, Chad Cockrill you mean a lot to me man. I know we’ve had our ups and downs but you’ve always been a support and often times my only friend in this world. I love ya bro. x 3 Updog? Kitty called. That would be a misSteak. You’ve always cheered me up and your the funniest person I know.
For my best friend Jacob Velo I can’t thank you enough for your understanding, and sound advice that seems to come with nothing in return but genuine good heartlessness. Your my best friend and man were we stupid haha, but the good times will always be remembered.
