Los Angeles County Coroner officials have released the names of the two boys and a man who died in a violent two-vehicle crash in Pico Rivera late Thursday night.
The victims are Braulio Duque, a 13-year-old Whittier resident, his friend, Gilbert Henriquez, as well as 22-year-old Efren Velasquez who was driving the Honda Civic collided with another car at San Gabriel River Parkway and Rose Hills Road..
Another boy, 12-year-old Humberto Flores, and an unidentified woman were also in the Civic at the time of the crash. They were both were hospitalized in critical condition.
According to several news sources, the group was returning home from a pool party celebrating the three boys’ sixth-grade graduation from Carmela Elementary School in Whittier.
Alcohol did not appear to play a role in the fatal accident.
The fourth victim in this tragic accident was my son Anthony Machado it was not a girl .. My prayers to everyone who was involved in this accident…I’m going to miss u Broulio- Guilbert .. Broulio was my sons best friend like my son too I’m going to miss u my lil angel please watch over us….
