Christian Barnes, a  22-year-old Disneyland employee and a resident of Long Beach has been arrested in connection with the detonation of a dry ice bomb in the park’s Toontown on Tuesday. Aaheim police announced the arrest of Barnes today.

Barnes is an outdoor vending employee who was being charged with suspicion of possession of a destructive device and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

The explosion took place in a trash can on Tuesday evening forced the evacuation of Toontown.

On Wednesday afternoon, Anaheim Police Department officials issued the following statement about the arrest of Barnes:

“Late on May 28, 2013, Anaheim Police Detectives identified and arrested a Disneyland outdoor vending cast member, Christian Barnes, 22, of Long Beach in connection with this incident. He was booked at the Anaheim Police Department on suspicion of possessing a destructive device (18740 CPC) and he is being held on one million dollars bail. Barnes is cooperating with investigators and has indicated this is an isolated incident with unanticipated impacts.”

“On May 28, 2013 before 5:30PM, Anaheim Police responded to reports of people hearing a small bang in a trash can within Toon Town at Disneyland. When officers arrived, they were directed to a trash can and found remnants of a water bottle, which is indicative of a dry ice explosion. They also found there were no injuries or damage as a result and the rest of the resort remained in full operation. Disney guests were ushered out of Toon Town while the Orange County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was called to assist with the investigation, per established protocol. Guests returned to Toon Town at 7:30 PM.”
