Lauren Caron Named Miss Cerritos 2013

Lauren Caron was named Miss Cerritos 2013 by the Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce with Karen Guzman and Rajvi Rami claiming the title of Miss Cerritos Princess.

Miss Cerritos and Princesses all equally represent the Chamber as Ambassadors at events throughout the year including luncheons, networking mixers, and grand openings.
Lauren Caron graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a double major in psychology and sociology. She is currently attending Whittier Law School and is studying to be a special education lawyer. Lauren’s attributes her personal experience of hearing loss as a deciding factor in her decision to become an advocate for those children who are in need of services to help them succeed in school. She is also currently a fellow in the Center for Children’s Rights at Whittier Law School, focusing on children’s rights and special education law. Ms. Caron explains that she has a passion for helping people and making a difference in their lives. As Miss Cerritos, Lauren is looking forward to meeting individuals in the business world; people who she would enjoy learning the valuable skills needed to succeed as a successful attorney and businesswoman.
Miss Cerritos Princess Karen Guzman currently attends California State University of L.A. and Cerritos College where she is pursuing a career in law enforcement. Karen is passionate about protecting her community, helping others, being a leader, and motivating others to follow their dreams. She has gained experience in preparation for this career as a member of the Public Safety Cadet Program. Ms. Guzman believes that Cerritos is a city based of many friendly, hard-working, loving, and strong people who come together as a family to make Cerritos not just a city but a home. As Miss Cerritos Princess, Karen is looking forward to being a guide for the city and helping Cerritos remain beautiful with its amazing traditions.
Miss Cerritos Princess Rajvi Rami grew up in the city of Cerritos and graduated from Cerritos High School, and is currently in the Honors Program at Fullerton College. She is pursuing a career as a pediatrician because she is passionate about children and medical studies. She has volunteered for the city of Cerritos and is currently employed by the Recreation Services of Cerritos as a Recreation Leader at Heritage Park. Ms. Rami is proud to live in Cerritos because it is clean, safe, and has the best schools. She has attended city meetings and is amazed how Cerritos has come together and what it has done for its residents. Karen is very proud of Cerritos and as Miss Cerritos Princess, Rajvi is looking forward to giving back and representing her city.
The Miss Cerritos program provides young women with the opportunity to network with the region’s business leaders and develop professional contacts that will help further their professional careers. The contestants are evaluated on poise, positive attitude, networking skills, and professional appearance.
