Tobias Dustin Summers Named As Suspect In Northridge Kidnapping

Los Angeles Police Department officials have named Tobias Dustin Summers as a suspect in the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a Northridge girl this past week.

Summers, 30, has a criminal record, and was last released from jail on January 19 on a probation violation.

At a press conference on Saturday afternoon, Summers was named as the “primary focus” of the LAPD’s investigation.

Summers past rap sheet includes kidnapping, robbery, explosives possession and petty theft cases.

Here is an official statement from the LAPD issued Saturday afternoon to members of the media: 

“The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Robbery Homicide Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are asking for the public’s help in locating 30-year-old Tobias Dustin Summers. Summers is wanted in connection with the kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl from the Northridge Area. He is described as a male White, 160 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. Summers is described as having close cropped hair.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2013 around 1 a.m., a 10-year-old girl was last seen by her mother in bed at their residence in the 8000 block of Oakdale Avenue in the Northridge area. Around 3:30 a.m., the girl’s mother went to check on her and discovered that she was missing.

After a lengthy search, the girl was located at Canoga and Oxnard Streets on March 27th around 2:50 pm.

The LAPD and FBI are asking for the public’s help in providing information to the whereabouts of Tobias Dustin Summers a wanted suspect.

Anyone who spots this suspect is asked to call 9-1-1. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this suspect is urged to immediately call the Robbery Homicide Topline at
