Officials in the Anaheim Union High School District have notified parents, teachers, employees and students in their jurisdiction a statement regarding the manhunt of Chris Dorner who is a former student and graduate of their school system.

Patricia Karlack, Public Information Officer for the AUHS confirmed to Los Cerritos Community Newspaper that Dorner, who is now one of the most wanted suspects in America, did indeed graduate from Cypress High School in the Class of 1997, and that he also attended John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma is Freshman and Sophomore years.

Karlack released a copy of the statement to LCCN this afternoon:

“Good morning. It is because the Anaheim Union High School District considers the safety of our students and staff our number one priority that we are calling you this morning.  The suspect wanted in connection with the shootings of the young couple on Sunday and the recent deaths of several police officers is a graduate of our district. However, we wanted to assure you that there is no danger to anyone on our campuses. We are working with local police departments who have increased their presence at our schools to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff, and we will keep you updated as needed as this situation develops. Thank you.”
