A Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy was shot Friday night at around 9:30 p.m. in the unincorporated community of Florence.
NBCLA is reporting that the deputy is part of the department’s gang suppression unit, and that the shooting took place near the intersection of 81st Street and Parmalee Avenue.
The name of the Deputy has not been released, as well as the medical condition of the Deputy. A massive manhunt is currently underway and a several block area in the Florence area has been locked down.
At 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Spokesmen Deputy Peter Gomez and Deputy Don Walker stated that “the search continues for numerous male Black shooters.”
Los Cerritos Community Newspaper will have additional details as they are released from law enforcement officials.
