Tax Agent Salari Bails Out of Jail

Ramin Salari, one of the central figures in a massive criminal probe inside the Los Angeles County Assessor Office posted a $1.16 million bond on Tuesday and was released from a men’s jail facility.

According to official booking records with the LA County Sheriff’s Department, Salari was released from jail at 6:48 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Booking documents show that the flashy property tax agent is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds and is 49 years of age with brown hair and brown eyes.

“Two homes of relatives, I believe a sister and his parents, were put up for the bail requirement,” said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the DA.

Salari is charged with 23 felony counts, including eight count of bribing an executive officer; two counts of conspiracy; and 13 counts of misappropriation. In addition to allegedly bribing Assessor John Noguez, Salari is charged with four counts of paying appraiser Scott Schenter $100,000 in bribes.

Salari is due back in Court in Division 30 on November 7 at 8:30 a.m. Noguez was still in jail as of 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. It is now known when Noguez will be posting bond.
