Fashion Night Out at Los Cerritos Center goes ‘glam’

By Brian Hews
Hundreds of anxious “fashionistas” converged at the Los Cerritos Center last week to celebrate “Fashion’s Night Out.”
Coordinated by Los Cerritos Center officials, Fashion Night Out featured a glitzy high tech runway show that highlighted models wearing Fall fashions from retail shops ANGL, Banana Republic, bebe, Charlotte Russe, GUESS, Love Culture, Macy’s, New York & Company, Perry Ellis, and White House/Black Market.
Both male and female models donned the latest fashion accents from Payless Shoes, Geeky Mamas, with makeup provided by M-A-C Cosmetics and hair “must-dos” from Regis Salon.
Megan Richardson, Marketing Director for Los Cerritos Center said that the event was a “great success” and that additional Fashion Night Out’s are going to be planned in the future. “The response has been great from both our retailers here at Los Cerritos Center, and from our patron’s and shoppers and guests who attended,” Richardson said.
During the night time event, several shops featured 50% to 70% “shopping specials” and many outlets served appetizers, cheeses, ciders, lettuce wraps, deserts, cup cakes, and other finger foods.
Participants also gathered at an ultra cool “Fashionista Lounge” located in front of Forever 21 that shoppers sipped on high end “mock tails,” Hors d’Oeuvres.
One retailer, True Religion Brand Jeans debuted their new “True Religion Coated Denim Collection” that featured printed treatments for women and bold masculine colors with a classic vintage feel for men. Cost of the new denim pant was $365.
Perry Ellis gave out several prizes during the event including iPod Shuffles with every purchase of more than $200 purchase, canvas tote bags, designer tee shirts, and silver PE Valet Key-Chains.
Linda Lang, a resident of Palos Verdes, and her two friends attended the event. “We drove all the way here from the South Bay. It was a great experience,” she said.
Richardson also reached out to the internet via Facebook and other social websites to highlight and promote the event. “We live in a digital world, and events like this give Los Cerritos Center a great change to reach shoppers all over the world, and right here in our own back yard,” she said.
